Being away from home for the first time, the participants may feel a little uneasy. Such feelings will soon give way to the excitement created as a result of their active participation in the activities.
A caring, friendly, and experienced trainer will guide and supervise the participants to work in a small group of up to twelve. To ensure safety, initial activities including team and trust-building exercises, safety instructions, a life-jacket drill, and a water-confidence assessment will be completed before they move on to a series of progressively challenging activities.
Participants will engage in activities which develop self-confidence, group and independent work, communication and interpersonal skills as well as an appreciation of sharing and group needs.
Heading back home, they will feel proud of their achievements and the new skills they have acquired. They will find that they have learned how to take care of themselves and how to open up themselves to others.
