This course is based on the original Outward Bound courses of the 1940s, and is as relevant today as ever. Guided by our professional crew and Outward Bound instructors, you will learn some basic seamanship and become part of the crew of our ocean-going sail training yacht “Spirit of Outward Bound”.
Using your new skills you will sail the ship to some of the remotest and least-developed corners of Hong Kong, and you will be faced with significant challenges along the way. As you gain in confidence and knowledge you will be given more and more responsibility for the safe conduct of the ship.
Working with others to navigate a vessel safely and effectively towards a destination is an excellent metaphor for many aspects of modern life.
