payment Payment
  • Enclose a HK$800 deposit for reservation of your place on the course. The deposit will be credited against the course fee.
  • Your reservation will be effective until 30 days before the course starts.
  • Pay your course fee balance 30 days before the course starts.
    If it is an overseas course, you should pay the course fee balance 60 days before the course starts. Upon receiving full payment, we will send you a Confirmation of Booking and a participants Handbook. Call the admissions office if you have not received the booking confirmation 7 days after making your full payment.
  • Note that we will cancel your course reservation without notice should you fail to meet the deadline for balance payment. We will not send you any follow-up reminders. Please call the Admissions Office if you have problems returning the balance on time.
  • Make your payment either by cheque/bankdraft, by credit card, or by "bank-in".
  • If you submit your application less than 30 days before the course starts, you should pay the Full course fee by direct "bank-in" to the account of Outward Bound Trust of Hong Kong Limited at ."The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited" (Make your payment by direct Bank-in to the account of the Outward Bound Trust of Hong Kong Limited at The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (Account no : 002 237717 001) Mail or fax the bank receipt to Outward Bound Hong Kong. Your insurance premium should be paid together with your full course fee/course fee balance. ). Include the insurance premium in the total sum if you want to enrol in the VPAI scheme.
  • ( For those who would like to apply for course fee subsidies, please pay the HK$ 800 deposit by "bank-in" first. You should also complete the Course Fee Subsidies Application Form and return it to Outward Bound Hong Kong as soon as possible. Outward Bound will notify the applicant if the application is successful in a short time.)

insurance Insurance
  • Outward Bound Hong Kong has public liability insurance coverage. For personal accident insurance, you can either make your own arrangements or enrol in the Voluntary Personal Accident Insurance (VPAI) scheme which is for those who are between 8 and 65 .
  • VPAI will cover you for a maximum of HK$500,000 in the event of accidental death or permanent disablement during the course of Outward Bound® training. It will not cover you for any medical expenses incurred for medical treatment during the course, and in the event of accidental death or injuries during local or overseas travel before and after the course.
  • Premium is charged at three levels in accordance with the duration of the course. For courses not exceeding 7 days, 14 days and 21 days, the premiums are HK$90 , HK$160 and HK$240 , respectively.
  • To enroll, simply tick the appropriate box in Part IV (Insurance) of the Enrolment Form and pay the premium before the course starts. The premium should be paid together with your course fee balance . In case you use credit card to pay for your course, you need to include the premium in the total amount.
  • Your coverage will then be confirmed by a Certificate of Insurance. The premium is non-refundable and cannot be transferred to other courses under in the circumstances.

insurance Cancellation & Course Transfers
  • Course transfer is possible provided that vacancies are available and we receive a 6-week notice. The first request on course transfer if free. An administration fee of HK$100 will be charged on each further request.
  • We reserve the right to cancel a course at any time. A full refund or an alternative course will be offered should such cancellation occur.
  • The Admission Office will notify participants of any cancellation and course changes 14 days in advance.

insurance Refund Policy

Your HK$800 deposit is non-refundable except in the following situations:

  • Full booking or cancellation of the course
  • Withdrawal due to unsuccessful application of course fee subsidies.
    The HK$800 deposit, however, will be retained for 6 months, and is transferable to another course if a written request is received 6 weeks before the course starts. If the applicant cannot attend any course within the next 6 months, the deposit will not be refunded.

You can obtain a conditional refund according to the following rules:

  • Any balance, excluding the HK$800 deposit, will be refunded for written notice received 30 days before course commencement.
  • Fifty percent of any balance paid, excluding the HK$800 deposit, is refundable for written notice received 20 days before course commencement.
  • No refund will be given if the request is made less than 20 days before course commencement
